Event Marketing Assistant (Apprenticeship)

Overview of the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to be supported to complete a Marketing Apprenticeship while working alongside UK based events. The Event Marketing Assistant will develop and support industry-leading events and awards for New Statesman Media Groups’ portfolio of events. They will support marketing for both B2C and B2B conferences and awards for brands such as New Statesman, Press Gazette, Spears and The World of Fine Wine.  

They will support and learn the end-to-end marketing process campaigns for their events through, but not limited to, e-mails, owned/earned/paid social media, adverts, partnerships. The role will involve supporting event marketing campaigns, updating website updates, managing various partnerships, registrations, and working closely with the marketing executives, with some responsibilities and involvement with production, operations. 

This role will be supported in completing a Marketing Apprenticeship.  

Main Responsibilities

  • Learning to build audiences and maintain the database 
  • Support marketing strategies and plans suited to different events and audiences 
  • Support the creation of landing pages for conferences and awards 
  • Support the creation of quality html email campaigns, adhering to brand guidelines, proofing copy, and checking house-style 
  • Support the reporting on event analytics, prepare targets for each campaign and updates to the team  
  • Support campaigns on social media across paid/earned/owned

About You

Qualifications and Skills  

  •  No previous experience – ambition for marketing role for leading publication is a must  
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills 
  • Excellent oral communication skills at all levels  
  • IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel 
  • Intelligent and able to use own initiative 
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with the understanding of priorities  
  • Able to work under pressure, meet fixed deadlines, and work within a team 
  • Passion for making things look, feel & sound amazing 
  • Fluent spoken and written English. 

Desirable  

  •  Previous experience within marketing, digital marketing, social media, or events 

Event Executive

New Statesman Media Group

Overview of the Role

The Event Executive will be responsible for helping to manage a portfolio of events under the magazine brands within the New Statesman Media Group. We run over 60 events throughout the year and cover multiple industries such as Tech, Finance, Current Affairs, Healthcare, Wealth Management and Politics. The types of events include webinars, roundtables, conferences, awards, networking and bespoke events.

The Event Executive will be responsible for delivering all aspects of their own events, end to end project management and supporting the rest of the operations team across the schedule on-site.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ownership of allocated events from start to finish
  • On-site event management across events schedule
  • Researching and collating information related to venues
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to sponsors, clients and delegates
  • Accurate budget management and reporting of figures on a weekly basis to Senior Event Manager
  • Research and negotiate with suppliers to ensure costs are on target
  • Provide regular updates, escalate any areas of concern and report on project progression to the Senior Event Manager
  • Manage multiple projects and tight deadlines simultaneously
  • Collaborate with sales teams on the creation of sponsorship packs
  • Directing allocated projects and cooperating with the marketing and production teams

Delegate Acquisition Executive

Overview of the Role

We have an exciting position for a Delegate Acquisition Executive to join our team. You must be ambitious and keen to work in a target driven environment in a predominantly telephone based sales role. As things progress, there will be plenty of opportunities to travel and work on more in person events.

You will identify, research and contact senior level and specialist job title executives within a variety of business and industry sectors and be able to present an event with full agenda and with benefits of attending to the qualified decision maker.

Main Responsibilities

  • To establish contact with key decision makers and deliver a compelling and intelligent pitch in line with the company and event requirements
  • To ensure effective communication throughout the delegate journey. Ensuring the event reaches customer expectations at all levels
  • Ensure all personal targets are regularly met
  • To nurture and maintain interest for all delegates and ensure live attendance/logins live on the day and to ensure engagement with sponsors through intros or scheduled meetings. To respond to delegate enquiries in a prompt and professional manner ensuring correct information is communicated
  • Clear communication with all stakeholders where required, ensuring client needs are met and achieved
  • Ensuring all business is fully compliant and meets company requirements
  • Work as a part of a team in achieving event targets
  • To ensure the company’s Salesforce system is updated and kept accordingly and to be organised in splitting time between nurturing and new delegate acquisition.
  • To be able to provide visibility into pipelines and forecasts on expected attendee numbers for each event.

About You

  • Previous event sales experience preferred, both virtual and in person/onsite experience and on an international basis.
  • Experience of using Salesforce CRM advantageous.
  • Ability to work on multiple types of events at the same time.
  • Experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines with targets to hit.
  • Desire to succeed and to over deliver and be helpful to external delegates.
  • Desire to collaborate within the company across different departments.
  • Strong ability to work as a team towards achieving overall goals.
